Science educator James Drake built this amazing timelapse video from the perspective of the International Space Station as it flew over North and South America. He created this video by downloading a series of 600 photographs that were available online at theGateway to Astronomy Photograph of Earth, and then stitching them together into a complete video.

"When you’re down, when you’ve been kicked down in the street and then kicked a few more times until you’re bleeding and your teeth are out, then you only have up to go. You get reborn again, and expectations aren’t so great because they’ve taken you away. It’s beautiful to be down there. It’s so beautiful." David Lynch :: photography

“Life has had millions of years to finely-tune mechanisms and structures (such as photosynthesis, or spider’s silk) that work better than current technologies, require less energy and produce no life-unfriendly waste. The emulation of this technology is the goal of biomimicry, the art of innovation inspired by nature.” Brett Hoverstott :: photography

"I never set out to become anything in particular, only to live creatively and push the scope of my experience for adventure and for passion...If I only scrape a living, at least it’s a living where I’m scraping. If there’s no future in it, this is a present worth remembering. Make up our own minds for experience and be inspired." :: ms
